Often there are areas in a house that have very little daylight, making the spaces feel dark and oppressive. Many times a skylight or a solar tube will do the trick. But what if the space needing some more daylight is on a lower floor - you create a floor skylight. That is what we did in this home to bring daylight into the laundry area downstairs. A “skylight” is installed in the floor above that also added some fun visual interest in the hallway on the floor above. It also helped that there was an existing roof skylight above where we put the floor skylight.
